Amir-John Haddad & Almeraya Quinteto Flamenco actuarán en la XXX edición del Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba el próximo sábado 17 de julio a las 21:30h en la Sala Orive.
Un concierto flamenco de la mano del guitarrista alemán Amir-John Haddad (ex Radio Tarifa) que presentará su obra “Pasando por Tabernas”. Compartirá escenario con destacados artistas españoles como Inmaculada Ortega al baile, Eva Durán al cante, Enrique Terrón Duque a las percusiones y la colaboración especial del violinista francés Thomas Potiron. El recital se basa en las tres facetas de la guitarra flamenca, el toque solo de guitarra, acompañamiento al cante y acompañamiento al baile, todo ello con composiciones propias.Amir introduce aparte de la guitarra flamenca, instrumentos de diferente sonoridad como el buzuki, haciendo referencia a las influencias culturales que ha experimentado el flamenco en los últimos siglos.
Amir John Haddad empieza a tocar la guitarra a los 8 años y sube por primera vez a un escenario a los 12 años. Desde muy pequeño ha pasado muchos veranos en Almería, cultivando así su vínculo con Andalucía. No es de extrañar que su grupo lleve el antiguo nombre que le dieron los árabes a Almería “Almeraya” y que su álbum haga referencia al pueblo de Tabernas, “Pasando por Tabernas”.Su ascendencia palestino-colombiana hace que su música esté marcada por un fuerte carácter y que sea muy afín al espíritu y lenguaje flamenco, poniendo su sello personal en cada toque.

En su larga trayectoria ha trabajado con artistas de la talla de:

Radio Tarifa, Joaquín Ruiz, Eliseo Parra, Tomasito, Raimundo Amador, El Capullo de Jerez, Inmaculada Ortega, Pepe Justicia, Javier Paxariño, Carmela Greco, Enrique de Melchor, Toni Maya, Juan Parrilla, Antonio Canales, Eva Durán, Los Losada, Imran Khan, Amaan Ali Khan, Murad Ali, Prashant (New Delhi), Pepe Justicia, Carmen Cortés, Carmina Cortés, Guadiana, José Menese, Melendi, Jorge Pardo, Domingo Ortega, Belén Fernández, Members of Parliament, Rafael Amargo, Gerardo Núñez, Naseer Shamma (Irak), Lole, solo por mencionar algunos de ellos.

The first classes started out on different weekends in July, September and November ’09 and took place in Saig a small village in the Black Forest near Freiburg.

The students are welcome to enjoy a rural environment and stay in a beautifully located hotel next to the forest. Being surrounded by nature is the best way to relax and find the appropriate quietness to fully dedicate themselves to practicing and studying their instrument.

From August 2010 on there will be one week workshops in Ferreirola a small Andalusian village in the Alpujarra of Granada at the bottom of the Mulhacén.

The classes are split in several groups according to the different levels. Further Amir takes his time to dedicate himself personally to each disciple and answers the individual questions of the students.

The aim of the workshop is to increase the knowledge of all students and make them feel more comfortable on their instrument. Amir teaches various finger techniques combining them with melodic and harmonic variations through the different “palos”

or flamenco styles. Amir insists very much on the rhythmical confidence of the students. Rhythm plays a very important role in flamenco and music in general.

Occasionally the classes are being joined by a flamenco singer to give the students the opportunity to make their first steps in the field of accompanying flamenco singing.

At the end of his workshops Amir makes everybody sit in a circle and jam together improvising over the new material. This stimulates the musical communication and makes everybody feel a little bit freer.

Until now all workshops have been very successful and many people have repeated the experience.
